Year 4- Hydrating Spray.
Year 4 was initially made for myself. As someone with long dreads and a jam-packed schedule, I don’t shampoo as often because of the lengthy process.
Although I take good care of my hair, it tends to experience some dryness in the period between washes.
And as mentioned in the Year 1 & 2 blog I only suggest using oil after shampoo & condition.
It’s important to avoid using oil consecutively without washing your hair, as it can lead to significant build-up. Keep in mind that oil doesn’t provide moisture but rather seals it in.
With determination, I entered the lab and started experimenting. My goal was to ensure that my scalp would stay fresh until the next wash without any accumulation of oil. And I am proud to say that my efforts resulted in the creation of Year 4.
So what’s inside?
Aloe vera
Aloe vera has numerous benefits for the scalp, including its soothing and healing properties and its natural astringent effect. It also protects against inflammation (which is the root cause of many scalp conditions), such as dandruff, eczema, and psoriasis.
Rose Water
The rose water effectively breaks down any oil build-up that may occur. Moreover, rose water is known for its nourishing and moisturizing properties, thanks to its high antioxidant content.
I have found that using rose water helps balance my scalp’s natural oil and helps soothe my itchy scalp.
Cucumber
Cucumber is mainly made up of water and is excellent for hydration. It has loads of moisturizing benefits for the skin/scalp, and I love how refreshing it smells.
How to use?
For best results, spray directly to the scalp.
Then massage or comb through to the ends of your hair.
Leave as is or style to desired look.
If you want to add some light and effective moisture to your hair in between washes, Year 4 is an excellent option for all hair types. It can also serve as a nice lightweight finishing product.
