The Most Common Question
The most common question Ross receives in the chair is, “What haircut fits a person the best?”
To figure this out, Ross considers factors such as the client’s head shape, face, personality, and even style of dress. Ross believes this is an ongoing process and it may take more than one visit to curate the perfect haircut.
Importance of Hair Care
To Ross, hair care is a 10/10 in importance. He includes hair care as part of his service and educates his clients on the importance of shampooing, conditioning, and the water temperature they use. He also gives tips on how to apply hair products properly to receive the best look.
Taking Care of Yourself
Ross stresses the importance of caring for oneself as a barber or stylist. The constant standing and providing excellent service takes a toll on your body. So Ross loves to set aside time for physical activity, eating well, and unwinding after a long day.
He also recommends physical therapy, such as using a massage gun, to keep the muscles relaxed and free of tension. Ross takes care of his mind and body by weight training three to four times weekly and seeing his physical therapist a few times per month.
Conclusion
In conclusion, taking care of oneself is just as important as one’s clients. By prioritizing mental and physical wellness, barbers and stylists can continue to provide high-quality services and maintain a healthy work-life balance. You can find Rick Ross on Instagram under the handle @rickross.
