Last Updated on September 16, 2024 by David Thomas

Men’s hair care can often feel like a chore, but it definitely doesn’t have to be that way. I express to my clients all the time, By simplifying their routine, they can get the results they want without spending a lot of time or effort. Here are some easy tips and tricks specifically for men who want to streamline their haircare routine:

How to Simplify Your Hair Care Routine

Hair Type and Condition

The first step in achieving a healthy routine is understanding “your” hair type and condition. Try to select products that are designed for men and specifically for your hair type. For example, someone with curly hair should be using products that help retain moisture. Straight hair should use products that focus on volume and oil reduction. I can elaborate on this more in another post, but for now, know that your hair type has specific needs to stay healthy. Improper use of products could result in thin, brittle hair.

Stick to the Basics

Rather than using many different products, focus on using a quality shampoo and conditioner. Not all shampoos and conditioners are created equal. If you have specific styling needs, stick to ONE pomade, wax, paste, powder, or hair spray to achieve your desired look. I’ve had clients using like 6 products to achieve their look, which is outrageous. Not only is that expensive, but its time consuming, and you still have to wash all that out. Choose quality products. They may cost a little more but they’re worth it.
